Incoming Forbes Birth to Kinder President, Dell Welsh, has a vision for the day which will see up to eight stations in Victoria Park and the Forbes Town Library with activities for children, early learning centres, schools and families.
With the theme for Book Week this year being “Escape to Everywhere”, the organisers are hoping the ambiance of the Park and Library will be one escapism.
It will be a day where everyone’s favourite children’s literature “escapes” from books and is brought to life in the form of storytelling, book readings, drama, dance and music.
During the day, school groups and families will explore a range of activities at Victoria Park.
Plans for the day include a Centacare reading nook and story time inside the library as well; dancing with Kristin’s dance studio and nursery rhymes with Miss Jayne from News on Rankin.
Forbes North Public School’s very own “Green Sheep” will be larger than life with her interpretation of “Where is the Green Sheep?”
Musica Arioso’s Gail Smith will be bringing her passion and enthusiasm for early childhood learned as she sings with and entertains the children.
Catch the action between 9.30am and 1pm on August 18.
