Ben Hall Pairs: Tomorrow and Sunday we welcome many visitors to town for the Ben Hall Pairs. The total prizemoney is $5,000 and many skilled bowlers will be doing their best to be in the money. All spectators are welcome to come and enjoy the weekend.

Major triples: In a first round, Cliff Nelson, Geoff Williams and Glen Kearney defeated Rob Priest, Pater Mackay and Brian Tisdell. The game was neck and neck to the final two ends. Team Kearney picked up the winning edge in the championship ends. Well done gents and all the best in the next round.
In the other exciting match of the Major Triples Viv Russell, Bert Bayley and Greg Gunn played an extra end to break the twenty five all tie. They defeated Darryl Griffiths, Lyall Strudwick and Russell Hodge 26:25. What a great match well done gents.
Wednesday at One: Last Wednesday we were a little short on numbers. Possible due to the threatening weather but it was fine and dry. Col Breaden and Ray Dunstan won by 14:12 from Rob Priest and Fred Vogelsang. Glen Kearney and Kerry Dunstan had a 22:8 result against Bill O’Connell and Scott McKellar. More learners and legends next Wednesday at one please gents.
Remember that Wednesday 6th September is a mixed Father’s Day event starting at 9.00am. It will be an Italian theme, dress and food. “Divertitevi” (Have Fun)
Thursday arvo: Last Thursday we had Grant Lambert, Don Hodson and Ron Symons win by 19:16 from Gunna Williams, Ralph Waugh and Pete Brogan. Good to see Clive Herbert and S Buttworth with a 28:21 win from John Ashcroft and J Heterick. I hear that Clive is not well at the moment. We wish you a speedy recovery Clive. Wayne Moon and Al Phillips picked up a 23:19 win from Scott McKellar and Ron Thurlow. Cliff Nelson and Wayne Burton stayed in front with a 23:15 victory over John Baass and Don Craft. Graham Mowbray and Darryl Griffiths finished 28:18 in front of John Cutler and Lyall Strudwick. Finally Peter Mackay and Viv Russell had a 28:17 win from Ernie Egan and Greg Ward.
Sunday morning bowls: We wish Ron Goodger a speedy recovery while in hospital.
From the committee: “A and B pairs.” Nominate individually and A grade players will be drawn with a B grade partner. Players must be full members. Games will be played on weekends with the first round completed before Sept 23.
“The Ferguson Shield.” For those players who have not won a Majors or Minors event we now re-introduce the Ferguson Shield. It is a mufti singles event open to all players and learners. Matches can be played any day except Monday, Tuesday or Thurs arvo. The draw will be knockout with a consolation draw if you lose your first match. Nominate now.
Club Mixed Pairs: Nominations are invited for the club mixed pairs competition. It is a full dress, full member, three bowls pairs competition. Play will begin on Saturday 30th September and the nomination fee is $5 per player. So ladies and gents pick your partner and nominate on the board now.
