Students from the host school as well as Forbes Public, Forbes North and Parkes’ Holy Family School gave presentations to each other on topics they had researched.
The students have been working on their presentations for most of the term and teachers said they had done an excellent job.
They all had a focus on waste management and waste reduction – and how we can all make changes that make a difference globally.
Forbes Public looked at how many throw-away coffee cups Australia – and Forbes – use each week and gave out reusable ones to encourage minimising waste.
In the afternoon session, students spent time with representatives from the Lake Cowal Foundation, Netwaste, WIRES wildlife carers and Bunnings.
They looked at what each of the different organisations do, as well as the life in our waterways and traditional Aboriginal land management.
