Kylie Matthews is from the Forbes Parkes branch of the Australian Breastfeeding Association, which runs a support group between Forbes and Parkes.
Mums can join the meetings twice a month, or seek information and counselling.
The funds for travel and accommodation to the conference, in Toukley, were raised when Flannery’s hosted the annual Life Pharmacy managers’ group conference in Forbes at the end of July.
The group, which is headed up by Forbes-bred pharmacist Michael Flannery, includes pharmacies throughout central western NSW, the ACT and Victoria.
Representatives met at Forbes Golf Club for a three-day planning and education session.
They also had a look at the renovated Flannery’s, which now has three clinic rooms and a community room.
Flannery’s business manager Debbie Prior said the Rankin Street pharmacy had a room that mums were welcome to use to feed, weigh and change their babies.
Commenting on the recent upgrade to Flannerys Pharmacy, group founder Michael Flannery said it was always great to return to Forbes where his father Ron started the pharmacy about 60 years ago.
“I am excited that we have renovated Flannery’s Pharmacy into the template for our community pharmacies of the future,” he said.
