The Futsal State Championships act as a tournament for players and clubs in developing their skills for future seasons of soccer.
Futsal games are played indoors on a flat surface the size of a basketball court, they are faster paced than outdoor soccer due to the smaller field of play.
Players from Forbes competed in the Under 9s and Under 11s championships as part of the Western NSW Kings.
Both teams were made up on the day from a mixture of players coming from Forbes, Orange, Broken Hill and Young.
The under 9s team had varied results in the championship with two wins, two draws and two losses.
The under 11s team fared slightly better in the championship with four wins and two losses.
Coach Doug Mckenzie congratulates both teams on how they performed despite never having played together before.
The next Futsal competition begins in February 2018 and will lead into next year’s winter season.
