Last month Forbes Shire Council announced it had selected consultants Group GSA and A.P Sheere to complete a masterplan for the CBD.
The plan will have a 10-15 year timeframe and will focus on economic opportunities, tourism opportunities, urban design and revitalisation strategies.
“There are few things more important to our community than a bright and vibrant central business district,” Mayor Graeme Miller said.
“An attractive and inviting CBD stimulates business interest, drives economic growth and investment and provides employment opportunities for our children.”
There will be a number of other opportunities for residents to have their say.
There’s a forum for the business community on Wednesday, November 1 from 6.30pm until 8pm.
On November 2, there will be a community walk through Templar, Rankin and Lachlan Streets.
Meet at the intersection of Lachlan and Templar streets, outside the Platypus Gallery, at 5.15pm for hte walk through to begin at 5.30pm.
A community forum will follow at Town Hall between 6.30pm and 8pm.
“No idea is too big or too small,” Mayor Miller said.
“Your input will help us better understand the dynamics of the CBD and identify where gaps may exist.”
The survey, which will close on Tuesday, October 24, can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ForbesCBDMasterplan
