Forbes High and Red Bend Catholic College both have cattle teams attending the Bonanza in Scone from October 27 to 29.
Forbes High is sending nine students from its cattle team to showcase five steers.
The steers being entered are part of a community partnership between the school and breeders from various areas including Forbes and Cudal.
Teacher Rachel Eagles said the school was humbled that the local community supported them with cattle for local and regional shows. They’ve had a busy time on the local show circuit.
Students from the cattle team have been working with the steers, responsible for their care, for the past four months.
Mrs Eagles says the school is really proud of the cattle team and they are confident about their chances in this competition.
