It’s hard to believe that Gunning Gap celebrated 100 years of settlement that year.
While there were centenary celebrations going on, Forbes was beginning to get into the Christmas spirit with letters to Santa beginning to be sent.
November, 1997 seemed to be a busy month for new parents with lots of new arrivals.
However some of the older kids were entertained when the Wiggles came to town.
Kindergarten students from Condobolin came over to join Forbes kids at the Forbes Services Memorial Club to watch the Wiggles perform.
During this month Lake Forbes Aquatic Centre was still undergoing its renovations.
During this time, Red Bend were showing off their steer spoils and some Australia’s best bullriders came to make some noise at Spooner Oval.
