Scheduled for the October long weekend Monday, the first Monday of the school holidays, the event once again has plenty of activities for the whole family.
Eugowra has five times won NSW Harness Racing honours for running the best Carnival of Cups meeting of its size, and it’s no wonder.
Monday October 1 will boast a great an eight-race program, featuring the $30,000 Lexus of Parramatta Canola Cup, and the $10,000 Don Tildsley Memorial.
Once you’re through the gates, entertainment for the children is free including teacup rides, jumping castle and inflatable obstacle course.
Pooka’s Entertainment will be on course, working his wonders with balloon sculptures and fun, and Percy the Pacer might pop in too.
Eugowra Preschool will be there fundraising with facepainting and sno cones – the way the weather has been warming up, they’ll be in demand!
There will be mini-trots races to get the day underway, and live music by The Hewetts.
If you’ve never had a go at the bouncing pony races, this could be your year, there’s also the dash for cash at the end of the day.
Ladies and gents are urged to plan their outfits: there are excellent prizes for Fashions on the Field and these are expected to once again be hotly contested.
The titles of Canola Cup King, Queen and Princess are once again up for grabs, and there’s a prize for best headwear as well.
Limited seats are available in the marquee, for $65 you get a two-course meal, as well as champagne and a cheese and fruit platter.
You do need to book by September 24.
Entry on the day is $10, under 16s are free.

Heats on Sunday
Canola Cup action starts this Sunday, with five heats for the $30,000 final on at the Eugowra Showground paceway.
Sunday is a 10-race meeting, fields on the Harness Racing NSW website, and gates are expected to open at 11.30am with a big program for the afternoon.
In addition to the Canola Cup heats, there’s a three-year-old pace for the first time in eight years and a fast class.
The 2017 Canola Cup was taken out in style by Im With Lexy who was bred, reared and is raced by Lex Crosby, a man who is a big reason why the Canola Cup has risen to the level it has.
