Good crowds turned out to picturesque conditions at the Eugowra Showground paceway for the long weekend family fun day and harness race meeting.

The $30,000 Lexus of Parramatta Canola Cup (2100m) feature race was claimed by favourite, Three Summas ($1.50) after leading for the majority of the race.
The bay horse, Three Summas, trained by Russell Jack, was driven by David Moran to an early lead in the 2100 metre feature race from barrier two.
Three Summas was able to hold the lead by a length for much of the race, fending off an early challenge from local chance Ominous Warning and a late challenge by second placed Now Eye See to claim the win.
Driver, David Moran, said he loves coming to places like Eugowra to driving horses in events like the Canola Cup.
“These little country clubs and tracks in NSW do an extraordinary job.”
Three Summas’ trainer, Russell Jack said the bay horse ran a nice race and was helped along by a favourable draw.
Rounding out the top four was, Now Eye See, trained by Amanda Turnbull in second place, Walk On Kimmy, trained by Wendy Turnbull in third place and in fourth place was My Secret Beach, also trained by Amanda Turnbull.
In other results, locally trained and owned mare Gotta Go Jazzy Jet NZ secured first place in the Don Tildsley Memorial.
Gotta Go Jazzy Jet, trained by Phil Thurston and driven by Matt Rue, fended off several challenges to claim the win in the last race of the day.
Driver, Matt Rue, said they had to hold off the challengers one after the other for the win.
”We had to fight all the way to the line for it,” Mr Rue said.
Trainer Phil Thurston said that was her first step up into open class and she had been going through her grades nicely.
“There were some exceptional horses in the race, so it was good to win that.”
Earlier races
Local connections had claimed honours in the Oils Plus Mick Rawsthorne Memorial.
Arcachon’s owners include Eugowra’s Grant and Kayla Jones, the horse was driven to the win in the 2100m pace by Anthony Frisby from Perthville where she is trained by Chris Frisby.
The day got off to a cracking start with the mini Canola Cup for children and mini-trotters, the miniature Cup was taken home by Olivia Frisby and That’s Oro.
Some Waratah, trained and driven by Junee’s Bruce Harpley for D Kelly, won Race 1, the tab.com.au pace for three-year-olds.
Young trainer driver Nathan Hoy had a win in Race 2, the Waratah Early Learning Centre Club Menangle Where Horses Fly Heat.
He steered Cherry Sweet Peach to the win for RJ Keyte and C Willard, ahead of Little Mojo (trained and driven by John O’Shea) and Barkway Arnold.
The Canola Cup Gold Consolation was taken out by I’m Super Sophie, driven by Tom Pay for his father, trainer Michael Pay from Dubbo.
Stewards looked at an incident that occurred on the first turn of the 2100m pace, and took some time to issue final race results.
Famous Cookie, driven by Michael Day Junior, came in second, Tulhurst Lover in third and Tulhursthankypanky in fourth.
The Canola Cup silver consolation was taken out by Royal Aurora, who was trained and driven by Nathan Turnbull.
