A police spokesperson said the man was refused police bail on the charges, relating to an incident in MacDonnell Street about lunchtime on November 24.
He was also charged with malicious damage for allegedly smashing the victim’s phone.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Forbes hospital for treatment.

Two people were taken to Orange hospital for examination and treatment after their vehicle rolled in the rural area late Saturday evening.
Police said it appeared fatigue was a factor when the vehicle left the road 2km south of Gulliver’s Road Wirrinya about 11.45pm.

In other police news, a man has been charged with break, enter and steal from a rural residence.
More than $500 worth of coins was taken from a Bogan Gate Road property, a police spokesperson said.
A man has been charged in relation to the theft and will appear before Forbes Local Court.

A concrete slitting saw has been stolen from a farm business in the Gooloogong area between November 23 and 26. The saw has been valued at $2500 and police are investigating.
Police are also investigating a break-in at a Dowling Street business last Wednesday night. An offender has broken in to the business and smashed a vending machine to steal cash.

A Forbes man will face court over the alleged theft of alcohol from a local supermarket. Police allege the man tried to leave the store without paying for two bottles of bourbon and a six-pack of beer.

A motorist returned a high range blood alcohol reading after being stopped by police last Thursday night.
A police spokesperson said they stopped the driver, who was travelling at speed, in Johnson Street at 11.40pm.
A positive roadside breath test led to the driver undergoing breath analysis and returning a high range reading of 0.169.
The driver’s licence has been suspended and they will face Forbes Local Court.

A white van has struck a vehicle parked at the back of the Commercial Hotel and left the scene without exchanging particulars.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage.

A Forbes woman has been issued with a court attendance notice for driving while suspended.
A police spokesperson said they stopped the woman while she was driving in Cedar Crescent.
