Goldies continue domination

Goldies 43 - 10 Cootamundra

The Goldies and a strong band of Gold Army supporters headed over to Cootamundra for a tough contest.

The Goldies started strong, and although Coota's in-game kicking was strong, the counter attack from Boorowa held up well.

Carmo got on the board very early with a penalty, but then Coota tied up with one of their own. Josh Sloane scored a nice try on the back of a Dick Manion charge down who had a huge game at 10, and Captain Keagan Size went over soon after through some very strong tryline work from the forward pack.

Mark Poplin showed his veteran class by holding up the defensive line perfectly to slot Carmo through a hole to score one of his own.

The half time score was 24-3 Boorowa's way.

Coota came out of the sheds strong after the break, putting a try on near the left sideline.

The Goldies hit straight back through a classy finish from Liam Birks, who had a great game with ball in hand.

Sloane crossed for his second try with half an hour left on the clock through a very nice bit of ballwork from Manion, and try scoring machine Cocko put the finishing touches on a strong forward display with a try of his own.

Carmo had a day out with the boot, kicking 6 from 7, and the coaches will be happy with a strong performances from the boys.

Still plenty to work on, especially in the ruck, but all men in Gold Cotton stood up today in a strong performance.
