 The Role

As the Head Chef joining our Onslow Site, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and cost-effective food service, with the smooth day-to-day operation in a Commercial Kitchen. Consistent superior guest focus is to be at the forefront of all activities. As the Head Chef you will achieve this through implementing a strong service focus and ensuring that efficient standards and practices are employed. You will cook dishes that will delight our customers with their taste and timely delivery.

You will assist in overseeing all kitchen employees, including training and performance development. You will be responsible for providing smorgasbord/buffet style dining for guests residing at the Park, as well as buffet for small function & conference groups. You will also liaise with front of house staff to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of daily services.

 About You

Must have experience in remote locations and experience in similar set up facilitating 20,000 meals a month. The position includes the below responsibilities:

• Food preparation and presentation (dinner)
• Adherence to dietary requirements (allergies, special requests)
• Management of stock ordering, rotation and stocktaking
• Maintaining a clean kitchen, equipment and utensils
• Adherence to legislated food hygiene and general safety practices
• Fast, effective service provided with a smile
• Assisting the broader team as required

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

• Certificate III Commercial Cookery
• Food Safety Supervisor Certification
• Min 3 years post-qualification experience in executing all aspects of kitchen operations and food preparation and service, preferably in a remote environment
• A commitment to genuine, friendly & professional customer service
• A motivated, enthusiastic and positive ‘can-do’ attitude
• Resourcefulness, resilience and creative thinking
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging & time-sensitive environment
• Pride in personal appearance & hygiene
• Proven experience in electronic purchase ordering and cost management
• Proven experience in planning and developing menus
• Proven ability to work within a team and autonomously
• Ability to prep and organise ahead
• Current First Aid Certificate is highly desirable
• HACCP experience essential, with a high emphasis on food hygiene    
• Current Drivers Licence.

This position is FIFO ex Perth for the successful candidate.
