THE Dubbo Regional Convention Centre was transformed into a wedding wonderland on Sunday, with the 2015 Bridal and Event Expo attracting a big turnout from locals and visitors alike.  Celebrating its 37th year, the expo showcased some of the leading industry professionals with more than 65 exhibitors, ranging from venue hire, catering, cakes, hair and beauty and make-up.  Senior consultant, exhibition producer and co-ordinator Jan Grady was pleased with how successful the day was.  “Year on year this is such a strong event and one that is so well attended,” she said.  “There is a lot of tradition with weddings and this expo but we always have a modern flavour and twist and its great all the exhibitors have got on board.  “To have so many industry professionals under one roof it allows brides and grooms to save so much money and get so far ahead in their wedding planning. “This expo is as good as any wedding expo in the country and the amount of information people can take away, while having such a good time, is what makes it so great.” One of the main events of the day is the Bride of the Year Quest parade of past brides, which raised money for Cancer Council NSW.  Recipient of the Charity Bride of the Year was Jackie Pratten, who raised $1250, while Stacey Walker was named the Popular Bride of the Year.  “It is great to win while raising money and awareness for a fantastic cause,” she said.  “It’s been a lot of fun getting back into the dress and the memories have come back from the big day last year.  “I am really happy that I still fit into the dress, I am five-and-a-half months pregnant so to still get the dress on is very pleasing. “I want to say a big thanks to the Dubbo communities and everyone who donated to the Cancer Council.”
