JAN MUNDAY, COWRA EISTEDDFOD
The Annual Meeting of the Cowra Eisteddfod will be held on Monday, 3 November.
This is a change of day and time, which it is hoped will make it more accessible for people to attend.
The meeting will be held at Club Cowra from 10.30am.
Anyone who interested in helping with the planning and running of the 72nd Cowra Eisteddfod is most welcome to attend.
The Eisteddfod is in a solid financial position, but is in need of more helpers to be involved in the preparations and running of this very successful annual event.
If you have any ideas and suggestions please come along. You will be made most welcome.
Dates for 2026 have been set, and the syllabus is being prepared.
The Eisteddfod will start with the speech and drama sections which will be held from 4 to 7 May in Club Cowra Auditorium, with the school verse speaking choirs and short skits held on 6 May.
Instrumental sections will be held on 11 to 13 May in the Cowra Civic Centre, and will include school bands and instrumental groups as well as the Recital Instrumental Scholarship, sponsored by Peter and Jenni Fagan.
Vocal sections will be held from 14 to 17 May and covers many sections for children and adults.
There are sections for solos, duets, and choirs for schools and open age.
All styles are covered, including jazz / blues, folk songs, sacred, country music, pop and the prestigious Calleen Trust Operatic Aria. Sections to cater for all tastes.
The very well supported dance sections will commence on 18 May - and will run through all age groups from five years to Open age - to 31 May.
All styles of dance are included. There are almost 200 dance sections to cater for the large number of entries that are anticipated.
Several championships and scholarships are included - as well as sections for school dance groups catering for all age students.
Entries for all sections of the Cowra Eisteddfod will open in December with Stardom on line - and close on 16 March 2026.
The annual Cowra Eisteddfod draws competitors from several many areas of several states, which brings many visitors to the town.
Cowra Eisteddfod is blessed with a large number of major sponsors. However there are still many sections that in need of a sponsor.
The committee will be contacting as many people as possible, however if you would be interested in becoming a sponsor, there are many sections available ranging from $20 upwards.
All sponsors are recognised in the syllabus and program and during the eisteddfod.
