Starting at 1.30pm, the reception will see Ms Pavey perform a number of songs including her new single, Believe Me.
The single will be launched on Friday, the same day as the single is released to radio.
“I’m really excited to be able to perform for the town. It’s exciting that they have given me that opportunity. I’m looking forward to it – I can’t wait,” she said.
Ms Pavey described her new single as “poppy and fun”.
“I’m very excited. It was lots of fun being able to record a single – I’m very happy with it.”
Ms Pavey said the song is “a little bit different” than what she has been known for on The Voice.
“It’s a cover song … but I can make a song my own,” she said.
Recording the new single was similar to recording songs for The Voice, Ms Pavey said, in that they worked hard to make sure it was perfect.
Following the civic reception Ms Pavey will return to Sydney to start promoting her new album which will be released on Monday, July 8.
During Friday’s reception the community is also invited to enjoy a free barbecue provided by Forbes Shire Council.
Mayor of Forbes Shire Council, Ron Penny, said he thought local people were proud of Celia.
“We are delighted to host a civic reception and even more so that the community have the opportunity to hear her perform a few songs,” he said.
Friday’s welcoming follows on from two special performances by Ms Pavey in Forbes in recent weeks.
Last Friday week (June 14) Ms Pavey and coach from hit television show The Voice, Delta Goodrem, flew to Forbes for a special visit to Red Bend Catholic College.
On Thursday last week Ms Pavey accepted an invitation by St Laurence’s Parish School principal Prue Horan and her mother Donna Pavey to make an appearance and give a brief performance.
Ms Pavey is currently at home in Forbes for a break before returning to Sydney.
“It feels interesting [to be finished on The Voice] … because I’m missing being on the ball, [getting up early and working] and seeing Delta. I’m really missing seeing Delta, but I also get to be at home and relaxing … so it’s a bit of good and bad,” she said.
Since starting her musical career at seven, Ms Pavey has had a number of teachers along the way including Barbara Thomas, former Forbes resident Alex Scotton and Mitchell Conservatorium Lachlan Campus director Andrew Baker.
