VANFEST is a one day festival that will be held at the Forbes Showgrounds and is the concept of local publican Grant Clifton and his son Matt, who owns and runs a pub in Manly.
While VANFEST came to Forbes in May earlier this year, the event ran for one night only.
This is the first time a day-long festival has come to town and it is expected to bring some big names in the music industry to the region.
VANFEST announced today that well-known artists Bag Raiders and Van She will be performing at the festival.
Co-founder of VANFEST Matt Clifton said there will be dozens more renowned acts to be announced with music ranging from indie folk to house, electropop and rock and roll.
“Everybody on the line-up you’ll be aware of,” he said.
“We’ll be delivering an all Australian, extremely diverse line-up, featuring some heavy hitting acts never before seen in regional NSW and local talent as well.”
“There’s never been anything like this in Forbes.
“This is a party for the country, something that we hope will benefit everyone in the region.”
Mr Clifton said they will be aiming to make VANFEST an annual event and hope it will increase tourism in the central west.
“Our main objective is to initiate an economy boost by including a lot of local resources,” he said.
“Everything will be sourced locally from security to fencing and we hope to bring some numbers into Forbes.”
“This is a chance to build something for the region and we believe it will attract a lot of people.”
The festival will run from 2.30pm until 11.30pm on December 6 and will also feature VIP tents, wet bars and meet and greets.
Tickets go on sale today and can be purchased for $80 from www.vanfest.com.au.
