As of yesterday afternoon, fundraising efforts had raised more than $12,600 to support MND NSW.
MND NSW fundraising manager Kym Neilsen said Forbes had hosted another wonderful event.
“People really get behind it,” she said.
“I think it’s the country spirit that kicks in.”
Walkers from Orange and Sydney joined locals to walk for family members and friends.
“It was wonderful to see some of our local members there, and with big groups to support them,” Ms Neilsen said.
Money raised on the day and through the sale of raffle tickets beforehand supports MND NSW.
“It supports people living with MND as well as research to find a cure,” Ms Neilsen said.
“Ultimately, we want to find a cure. Until we do, we need that care.”
The Forbes walk is one of eight that will be hosted in NSW and ACT this year as the major community event fundraiser for MND NSWQ.
Local organiser Pat Duncan was thrilled with the day.
