A search was initiated of the Burcher/Nerang Cowal/Lake Cowal area after emergency services received a report, about 8.20am yesterday, that a 49-year-old man was missing.
The man was last seen 12.30pm on Friday, Sept 30, and his car and boat trailer – but no boat – were found parked at the intersection of Marsden and Morello roads, Burcher.
Yesterday’s search involved officers from Lachlan Local Area Command, assisted by Rural Fire Service and State Emergency Service volunteers, two helicopters, and NSW Ambulance Paramedics.
The operation was suspended at dusk but resumed this morning.
A submerged boat was seen from the air about 4pm yesterday, and police divers have been called in to see if it is one owned by the missing man.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page.
