The five-week program, on this month, aims to to help young people obtain their driving license and improve their employment prospects.
Jason Jones from Coca-Cola Amatil nominated Birrang Enterprise Development because of his personal connection with the work they do in Forbes.
“It is crucial in regional NSW to be able to drive, not only for employment opportunities, but also as a valuable social tool to help build confidence and a sense of freedom,” he said.
“I’m proud to support Birrang’s Driver Licensing Program to help remove key barriers to obtaining a license for our local Aboriginal youth, empowering them to access education, employment and training opportunities.”
The course is run by driving instructor and training officer Lyndal Robb.
“We spend Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning in class learning. It’s a wonderful program,” she said.
