After a strong sale last week numbers lifted this sale with an increase in lambs yarded at the Forbes saleyards on April 18.

Lambs made up 26,900 of the 30,250 yarding, an increase in lamb numbers of 6000 and a total yarding increasing of 5350 from the sale held on April 11.
Lamb quality was similar to that of previous sales with good numbers of finished lambs on offer.
Heavy and extra heavyweight lambs made up the majority of the offering.
The usual buyers were present and competing in a firm to easier market.
Light lambs were limited and sold from $116 to $124/head with an average sale price of $119 each.
Trade weights were firm to $3 easier with prices ranging from $128 to $160/head.
Heavy and extra heavyweights were also firm to $3/head easier.
Heavy lambs sold from $159 to $168 and extra heavyweights received from $167 to a top price at the sale of $230 a head.
Mutton numbers remained steady with Merinos making up the majority.
Quality was very mixed but prices remained strong.
Merino ewes sold from $90 to $176/head and crossbreds received from $100 to $171/head.
Hogget prices ranged from a low of $90 to a top of $160.
Ewes ranged from $45 to $176 a head.
Wethers realised a top price of $175 and sold for as low as $144 whilst rams made from $98 to a top price of $109.
There was no cattle sale on Monday, April 17 due to the Easter longweekend.
Sales will return to normal next week with cattle sales on Monday and sheep and lambs sold on Tuesday.
