Templar Street – from Lachlan Street to the Newell Highway – has been a hive of activity in recent weeks with paving and footpath rectification works.
Council is now completing work there, and the final stage is to plant shade trees.
Councillors at their June meeting resolved to plant ornamental pears. They also resolved to plant palm trees in the centre of the street (replicating what is in Court Street).
They agreed that the trees, already planted in the Rankin Street end of Templar Street and along Lachlan Street, had shown they could thrive in the environment.
Cr Phyllis Miller said this would provide uniformity throughout the CBD.
