SUNSHINE CLUB BINGO
Eugowra Friends of the Sunshine Club, presented a cheque for $1,750 to Molly Nielsen, which will be included with the Forbes Sunshine Club's donation to the Royal Far West Home at Manly.
Sandra Morethorpe made the presentation during the afternoon tea break at their regular Tuesday afternoon Bingo games. Mrs Nielsen thanked the bingo players for their cheque and explained that until recently the Forbes Club had sent their donation with a yearly cheque, but were now sending a cheque on a three monthly basis. Over the past 12 months they have sent $90,000-00 to the Far West Home.
All funds raised from the bingo days goes to the Royal Far West Home at Manly who treat country children in need of medical care.
Mrs Nielsen said that the Sunshine Club shop in Forbes is desperately in need of warm winter clothing for men, women and children and also blankets, doonas etc.
Organisers would love to see a few more players at the Eugowra bingo on the second and fourth Tuesdays at the Eugowra Community Bowls and Recreation Club at 1pm.
THANK YOU LUNCHEON
Members of the Craft on the Creek group met at the Central Hotel on Monday to have a 'thank you' lunch for Alan & Lyn Connelly and Sharon & Mick Radwick.
Alan was responsible for replacing the ceiling in the 'room next door' which was a big effort and he did a really great job. Lyn was thanked for allowing him to do the job.
Sharon & Mick were responsible for doing the paint job on the exterior of the new room – it also looks great.
President Judy Welsh made a very short speech thanking Alan, Lyn, Sharon, Mick and everyone else involved who have done so much to get the room ready for use.
The first organised workshop day will be the Crochet Class to be held on Friday July 10 starting at 10am and going through to 3pm. Helen Balcomb will be the instructor for anyone who wishes to learn or for the more advanced. You will need your wool/yarn in 8 ply and a number 4 crochet hook. For more information call at the Craft Shop. The room will be available to hire out for other types of classes or meetings- just check at the Craft Shop.
