Students and staff had a fantastic time dressing up to celebrate books, having Harry Potter, Oompa Loompas, Peter Pan and Cleopatra side by side created much interest and excitement.
The book parade was part of a week-long suit of events for Education Week 2017 at Forbes Public School.
On Monday the library was transformed into a book Fair where students could purchase books.
Also on Monday Forbes Public hosted “Open Classrooms” where classrooms were open to parents and community members. This was followed by a community morning tea.
On Wednesday students attended a combined schools scripture service at the North Side Chapel.
On Thursday the school welcomed pre-schoolers from around the local area to attend their regular Craft Group.
It was a wonderful week at Forbes Public School celebrating the innovative learning opportunities provided to students by dynamic, committed staff.
Community members really enjoyed the activities.
“I loved being part of my daughter’s classroom today. I enjoyed seeing her teacher in action, meeting her class mates and seeing her colourful classroom.” said Peter Stitt a dad who visited the open classrooms.
Principal Dafydd Thomas commented that “It is important to celebrate students successes and our education week focused on these that occur daily at Forbes Public.
“We were overwhelmed by the great interest of Parents, carers, grand parents and family members who came along to our open class rooms and see their child going from strength to strength.
“The partnership we have with the school community is important as we all work together to give the best opportunities for the next generation.”
