LOCAL and regional businesses have jumped on board to support one of Forbes’ most anticipated charity events on the calendar.
In its third year, Forbes Can Assist Dancing Stars will showcase the best hidden talent from around town, whilst raising money for locals battling cancer.
All 20 dancers have been sponsored by businesses including Wan Wah Chinese, Ray White Forbes, Tyreright Forbes, Bernie Horan Building, Forbes Preschool, Bright Beginnings Early Learning Centre, Forbes Services Memorial Club, Hanleys Excavations and Road Services, Jack and Greenhalgh Building Contractors, Bron’s Hair Design, DLH Solicitors, All U Want Catering, Forbes Rugby Union Club, Anytime Fitness, Forbes Country Bakehouse, Forbes Auto Electrical and Forbes Scrap Metal.
The fundraiser night will include an exciting opening act, an auction, raffle, lucky door prizes and 10 mystery couples dancing for the inaugural disco ball.
This year’s ‘musical’ theme will have you jumping out of your seat with excitement. Dancers will perform styles including jive, waltz, jazz, foxtrot, disco, tap, modern, mash up, hoedown and rock.
Kristen Woods, Rachael Wythes, Emily Allegri, Kate Ralph and Jacinta Welsh will choreograph performances.
Jessica and Ashley from Jessica’s Essential Beauty and Wellness will be applying make up to dancers and Bronwyn Everson from Bron’s Hair Design will be styling hair.
Music will be organised by Bill Holmes and Dubbo’s Bill Kosseris will be doing sound and lighting for the event.
The Vandenberg’s Grant Clifton and Kim Fetherston will be sponsoring the Judge’s Choice winner.
Kerry and Ian Bown from Bown’s Sportspower will be sponsoring the People’s Choice winner and supplying trophys.
First prize in the major raffle is a Can Assist $1000 travel voucher, second prize is a $200 travel voucher donated by Hello World and a Little Extras lifestyle bag. Third prize is a $300 Forbes Eyewear Specs voucher.
The Forbes Can Assist Dancing Stars committee is currently on the hunt for auction items for the event. All proceeds for items auctioned go directly to CanAssist Forbes.
