The event is on this Sunday, October 15 at the Forbes Sport and Recreation Club, and aims to support Men of League Foundation and the Forbes Prostate Awareness Group.
A triples bowls competition starts at 10am, get your names in before 9.30am to be part of it.
There are two former professional rugby league players attending the charity bowls day in support.
Former Parramatta Eels winger Neville “Nifty” Glover and former Penrith Panthers forward Matt Goodwin will be part of it – no doubt sharing a few stories from their careers in rugby league as the day rolls on.
After competition, and for the non bowlers, the Men of League Foundation is holding an auction and raffle worth up to $1000.
A football jersey signed by North Queensland Cowboys player Johnathan Thurston is the major item up for auction.
Men of League Foundation treasurer Norm Cook said various other football and racing memorabilia is also up for auction.
Both the auction and the raffle will be held with the presentations around 2:30pm.
There is significant interest in the event with some 70 people signed up by Wednesday.
Mr Cook said the bowls tournament is open to anyone to enter, sign up as a team or an individual by contact Forbes Sports and Recreation Club before 9.30am.
The entry fee of $30 per person includes lunch and all greens fees.
The Men of League Foundation is a charity organisation supporting current and former members of the rugby league community.
Funds raised this Sunday will also support the Forbes Prostate Awareness Group.
The local support group formed last year and meets at 6pm on the third Tuesday of the month, every second month, in the Long Tan Room of the Forbes Services Memorial Club.
The next meeting is scheduled for November.
