The Forbes Riverside Community Garden has just launched their two inaugural competitions for the Forbes community and already has some entries for both of these.

The competitions are:
Best individual vegetable garden, which has to be located within the 80 kilometre speed zone of Forbes for judging purposes and;
Best Scarecrow - judged by popular vote on the day.
Entries close on Friday, November 10 and the winners of both competitions will be announced on Saturday, November 18 at the Community Garden Open Day with stalls and a sausage sizzle from 8.30am to 1pm.
Entry is free, forms are available the following Forbes businesses: Bunnings, Bernardi’s, Hozpots, A Touch of Class, Woolworths, News on Rankin, The Bakehouse, The Art Gallery and Lakeside Takeaway along with Forbes Shire Council, Forbes Library and at the Community Garden.
Prizes to the value of $50 and $25 will be awarded for first and second place respectively, in both competitions.
Entry forms, which have all the competition details, should be filled out and handed in to the Forbes Shire Council, The Forbes Library or the Forbes Riverside Community Gardens.
You can also call into the Forbes Riverside Community Garden in Reymond St (site of the old forestry nursery) between 9am and 11am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays or Saturdays or drop it into the mailbox located at the garden near the main entrance gates.
