Sweep to J Hodge, M Schoefield and J Cripps. October 28 Walkers Ag N Vet sponsored the Medal of Medalists Finale which was won by Fran Smith playing to par on 72. Taryns Beauty Therapy sponsored the stroke round of 16 players,Fran also won this with Bess Shields being the Runner Up on 72 on a count-back. NTP ninth Verna Lane and 18th Heather Davidson. November 1 Terry Bokeyar sponsored a Stroke competition and monthly Medal in two divisions and your reporter who has been absent from golf for a while was amazed at the transformation of the course. We should make the most of it while we can with these ideal golfing conditions. The winner of Division one was our club champion Julie Hurkett with 73 from Judy Hodge on a count-back. Division two Julie Wood 71 claimed the trophy from Ethel Coombs 75. NTP ninth Ethel Coombs and 18th Kerry Stirling. The Champion Putter of the day was Colleen Bratton 28. Ball sweep J Wood, J Hurkett,J Hodge, E Coombs and K Stirling 75 on a count-back. Monthly Medal Winner Division 1 0-20 Julie Hurkett, Division 2 21-29 Judy Hodge and Division 3 Julie Wood. Congratulation to everyone in the winning circle. News from the Wellington Tournament saw Alison Kingston bring home the trophy in Division 3 Scratch. Our Christmas party is on December 6 at $35 so save the date and put your name on the board in the locker room. Bogan Gate: The course has greened up with the little rain we have had which now requires constant mowing. Saturday, October 21 the club held the “Jim Nutley Memorial Day”which was attended by a good roll-up. Thanks goes to Shirley Nutley and family for putting on the day, golf consisted of a 4BBB Stableford plus individual in conjunction. Winning pair was Gail McKay and Ron Boness with a Stableford score of 47, runners-up were Maureen Boness and Donal McKeowen with 46 points. Ladies individual was won by Gail McKay on 37. Men’s Individual was won by Tony Bratton on 41. Ladies longest drive Marion McIntyre, Mens longest drive was Ron Boness, Nearest the pin sixth and 15th ladies was Marion McIntyre and the men’s was Steve Edwards. October 29 the club held a Par 3 day and a big thank you goes to Steve and Ros Edwards for their hard work. Men’s winner was Graeme Hunter with 53 net. Second was Robert McIntyre with 55.25 net, three was Donal McKeowen with 56.25 net. Ladies winner was Maureen Boness with 60.75 net. Second was Di Cornelissen with 62.25 net. Nearest the pin for the Ladies was Maureen Boness, and the Mens was Donal McKeowen. November 5 is the closing day and “The Parkes Overnighter Caravan Park Trophy Day”, plus we have high tea and presentation night.
