Men’s Probus
It was a combined meeting of the two Forbes Probus Clubs, men and women, last month and certainly one of the most interesting speakers we have ever had.

Janet Moxey of Moxey Farms gave not only a very enlightening talk on the dairy farm off the main road to Eugowra and not far from Goolagong in another direction, but she shared information using a power point presentation which was very effective.
The Moxeys came into the Central West in 1976 but moved to Richmond near Sydney in 1984 with 700 cows.
Later of course they returned our way and in 1998 they were milking 2000 cows that quickly became 3500.
Today they are milking 5500 and have 200 employees on the huge development.
And it all means it is set to become the leading dairy farm in Australia.
Some of the key companies who utilise their milk are Yoplait, Dairy Farmers, A2 Milk and Farmers Union.
And there is no stopping the unique development going on with a Methane Digestor to be utilised that will mean there is no odour within the dairy and the methane will be transferred to power the dairy.
Remember I said 5500 cows are now being milked, well each cow produces 40-45 litres per day!
It is an overall great success story.
Before the men moved over to the main room for the talk, Rex Toole was inducted as a new member.
Rex moved to Forbes in 1969 and has six brothers and two sisters.

Ladies Probus
Any members who are in hospital, or who are not feeling well, we hope you are on the move.
Our sympathy goes to the family and friends of Sister Joan, she will be missed.
The Probus mystery trip is coming up on November 27, money should already be paid. The deposit for the trip on April 9 - $100 - should also be paid.
At our October meeting the men joined the ladies to hear Janet Moxey talk about their dairy at Gooloogong.
To make milk as good as it is, they are passionate about three things: their people, cows and farms. They farm sustainably to feed their herds.
Everyone enjoyed the talk and found it very interesting.
Our November meeting will be a Christmas morning tea and everyone is to bring along a present to the value of $5.
The committee has planned a great morning after the meeting.
Sharnie and Dulcie are to welcome the guests.
We might even see Santa and his helper if you have been good, ho ho ho! Hope everyone has a good Christmas and we will see you at the next meeting in January.
