Surgery isn’t the only option for Prostate Cancer yet many men aren’t offered others.
The group has grown to almost 20 members and a new secretary Ray Martin has been appointed and this has allowed the group to streamline operations so that members now receive the agenda for a meeting beforehand.
With research continuing overseas and in Australia into this form of cancer, articles are being disseminated through peak prostate organisations and some of these are always shared with Forbes’ members at its group meetings.
This month there will be two papers shared, one entitled: “Surgery isn’t the only option for Prostate Cancer yet many men aren’t offered others”. The second paper deals with drugs used in treatment of prostate cancer and research being done in what is being called a Nature Bank. Wives or partners of group members are invited to meetings which generally run between 45 minutes to an hour.
