Ladies Bowls

Fourteen ladies graced the green for a very pleasant morning of bowls last week and with the weather warming up were most appreciative of the earlier start. Lyn Elliott, Pam Stevens defeated Lesley Dunstan, Colleen Dean 20/7. Anne Nixon, Anne Walker drew with Margaret O’Connell, Carmel Murray 18 all. Alice Allen, Loris Stewart, Mary Everson defeated Irene Reilly, Hazel Prince, Jan Waugh and when Jan had to leave early Sandra Priest stepped in with the final score 21/8.

The prize winners for the day were Lyn Elliott and Pam Stevens and the in house competition was won by Alice Allen. The Charity Spider was won by Margaret O’Connell and Irene Reilly who each received a box of chocolates. The second last round of the Consistency Pairs was played earlier with Jan Waugh and Pam Stevens defeating Annette Tisdell and Loris Stewart 125/95. The final of this event will be played on a date to be advised.

Don’t forget that if you want to see some good bowls being played, come to the club at the week-end and watch the players taking part in the Pairs Carnival. A lot of time and effort has gone into organising this event so a big audience would be appreciated.

The Christmas Party is on Wednesday December 13 and the cost will be $15.  Also, each member is asked for a donation of $5 towards the cost of the Hamper Raffle. Presentation of trophies, badges etc. will be held at 6pm on Thursday, December 7 and everyone is invited to attend. Don’t forget, names in by 8.45am tomorrow.
