You probably heard and saw a lot of kids having fun on Wednesday, when Forbes Public School celebrated their end of year “positive behaviour for learning” day. The program saw kids enjoy activities ranging from fishing to a trip to the water park, as well as free play at school. A school spokesperson said PBL is an evidence-based and data-driven program which focuses on developing students’ strengths.

Year 4 student Charlie Gallagher said, “We had the best day today doing water play at school, the best part was wetting our Principal Mr Thomas.”
Event Coordinator Josh Avis said the school gives out a blue card to students when they display the school’s PBL values which are safe, respectful and responsible.
Mr Avis said the more blue cards each student has the more options they can choose from for the activity session.”
PBL Communications Coordinator Amber Avis said the blue cards give the students a measurable goal to strive for, with clear and consistent expectations.
