A tasty lunch was supplied by caterers and thanks must go to them for their catering during the year. It was a farewell for one of our newest members Judy McLuckie who is moving to Brisbane and we wish her happiness close to her family.
Margaret Morrison and Mary Everson were the lucky winners of the hampers and lucky door prizes went to Judy Kerr, Jan Waugh, Kay Toohey, Margaret O’Connell, Lesley Dunstan, Colleen Dean, Nola Girot, Helen Pitt, Margaret Morrison, Irene Riley, Hazel Prince and Alison Cutcliffe. Lyn Elliott was the winner of the most resting touchers. We were entertained by two skits performed by our talented actresses Anne Walker and Pam Stevens and Sandra Priest and Annette Tisdell and radio host Ann Mackay.
Their dress-ups were hilarious and received much applause for their effort. Dawyn Harvey as MC had us entertained with her jokes and Bernie Symons always has a regular list of them in her bag. President Ann then made a presentation to ‘Wardie’ who is such a handy fellow to have for all those jobs a bit difficult for the ladies. Well done Greg.

Croquet
Golf croquet saw club stalwart Veva MacCullagh with 3 matches to end the year as did Barry White. Saturday was hot early and many of us were keen to end the games and get in the shade for a cuppa and Christmas cake. Thank you Robyn Pols it was delicious.
Saturday’s clean sweepers with three games each were Libby Smart, Veva MacCullagh and the newly refurbished Doreen Rogers, well done Doreen.
A very enjoyable Christmas luncheon was served to 40 members at the Vandenberg Hotel with the Christmas cake made by Joan Littlejohn from her secret family recipe. It was delicious and beautifully decorated by her daughter Gail, great work Gail. Highest score of the year certificates were presented to Bruce Field in the Golf Croquet and Libby Smart and Dorothea Croker in the Aussie Croquet.

As Ray Taylor puts it, “This Christmas Hamper is taking more organising then picking six number in lotto”. He's on the right track and now is the much-anticipated four-ball medley stableford on Thursday.
Nominations have to be in by 9.30am for a tee draw to be done for a 10am shot gun start with play over 12 holes.
There will be mystery draw for the best aggregate stableford score picking up the Bernardi Marketplace sponsored hampers and also runner-up prizes.
Last Thursday there was a field of 32 players from the host club as well as veteran golfers from Forbes who dominated the 12 hole event. Winner was gentleman's gentleman Milton Cartwright with 27 points from fellow club members and another strong vets supporter, Garry Collits who posted 25 points to take second on a count-back.
Nearest the pins: 4th A-grade Richard Hamiltion (P), B Cassa Belley (P), 11th A Richard Hamilton (P), B Michael Lynch (P). Ball sweep, 25 points Michael Lynch (P), 24 Geoff Coles (F), Ken Sanderson (F), Sunna Bell (P), John Vanoyrden (P), Phil Bishop (P), 23 Allan Rees (F), Peter Barnes (F), Richard Hamilton (P), Rod Luyt (P). As mentioned above, Thursday's play in Forbes, 10am shot gun start.
Tuesday golf: 18 players in 12 hole comp with in-form Garry Collits best (34 pts), runner-up Barry Parker with 31 on a countback. Veteran golfers in Forbes were sadden to hear of the sudden passing of Parkes vets treasurer Mick Dunne. Our thoughts are with his family and many friends.
Don’t forget: Christmas Hamper on Thursday, nominations 9.30am,10am shotgun start.
