Mind you, it definitely won’t be too cold for a swim if you were planning to spend the day pool-side.
The Bureau is predicting a top of 35 degrees and a low of 20 degrees on Monday, December 25.
There’s a chance of a late shower with a breeze from the north-west in the morning, shifting to the south-west in the afternoon.
A hot and partly cloudy day is predicted for Christmas Eve with a top of 39 degrees currently expected.
In some areas of the state late rain and a cool change is expected on Christmas Day following a warmer weekend.
With six days until Christmas Day forecasters were predicting the possibility of thunderstorms, but said they would have a more accurate prediction closer to the day.
The Christmas Day forecast will follow a particularly hot week, with temperatures around the central and western areas of NSW expected to reach the high 30s in the lead up.
