Event Organiser Chris Haggarty said the group wanted to give back to the local community and CanAssist was chosen because of how they help people.
CanAssist helps with the cost of travel, accommodation and medication for people undergoing cancer treatment.
Over the last financial year, the Forbes branch of CanAssist provided in the vicinity of $90,000 to locals who needed help.
President John Schrader says CanAssist is very appreciative of efforts like this and every donation makes a difference.
There’s still time to contribute: for a $2 donation, CanAssist will wrap your Christmas presents for you. Volunteers are operating a gift wrapping station to simplify things for community members.
Find them on Templar Street outside of Painted Daisies between 10am and 12pm until December 23.
