The Advocate spoke to Mrs Kenny about being a Queen’s baton bearer on its journey to the Gold Coast for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Mrs Kenny said she is very excited to have the honour being selected as a baton bearer and is looking forward to carrying the baton.
“I was excited and honoured to be nominated but never thought I would get through the selection process,” Mrs Kenny said.
A founding member of the Forbes Netball Association in 1974 and committee member of the Forbes Town band, Mrs Kenny has been involved in various community led groups over the years.
Mrs Kenny said she enjoys being involved in community events and groups within Forbes and has been since moving here in 1974.
The Queen’s baton will pass through Forbes on January 29 on its way to the Games.
