Chris is a Forbes Shire Councillor, first elected to the Council in 2008.
He has served on numerous local committees over the past 35 years, including Australia Day and
He is currently the president of the National BBQ Championships and vice president of the Forbes branch of Riding for the Disabled Association.
“I was very privileged to be the first runner to carry the Olympic Flame into Forbes in the 2000 Olympics,” Cr Roylance said.
“I’m very honoured to represent the community of Forbes again carrying the Queen’s Baton.”
The one Queen’s baton has been handed from runner (or walker) to runner across the Commonwealth countries since last March.
It bears a message from the Queen to be read to the athletes at the opening of the Games.
