Last year the Robb-trained Security Code won the Cup from Black Fusion and Zaphod and later in the year with Maddison Wright again in the saddle Security Code won the inaugural $50,000 Picnic Championship Final at Dubbo.
During 2017 Rodney Robb embarked on a marathon trip with several horses to race at isolated meetings in the far north of Western Australia and Lulu’s Destiny was the star of the team with three wins at Wyndham and Kununurra.

Condobolin trainer Steve Beattie has the in-form Spinning Dawn engaged and the leading Picnic jockey Ricky Blewitt will be in the saddle.
At the first start after coming from stables at Hawkesbury, Spinning Dawn won the Orange Picnic Cup and then finished strongly from the back of the field to be beaten a nose by Lakota Sioux in the Geurie Picnic Cup.
Parkes trainer George Wright would love to win a Cup at Bedgerabong and Cyclone Andy gives him a good chance of doing so.
Cyclone Andy ran a tip top third to brilliant sprinter Danish Lace in the Gilgandra Town Plate then finished second to Spinning Dawn at Orange before missing a place at Geurie.
Craig Tyack, the popular President of the Tullibigeal Picnic Club, is hoping for an improved run from Maharaaj, a relative newcomer to his stables.
Katie Spalding formerly from England will ride Maharaaj.
Dubbo trainer has the Geurie Picnic Cup winner Lakota Sioux in the Cup along with stablemate Felicette.
