The day will be jam-packed with footy action from midday, culminating in the Forbes Magpies v Bathurst St Pats contest for the Brendon “Stubby” Collits Memorial trophy.
League tag kicks off the day at midday, followed by the under 18s from the two clubs about 1pm.
Then, organisers have something special for you.
For the first time the day will include a Peter and Kay Corliss Memorial game, and there will be a lot of familiar names in the line-up for long-time supporters of Forbes league.
Nathan Corliss, Peter and Kay’s son, will take the field with Clinton Schrader, Andrew Barnes, Michael Schrader, David Schrader, Nathan Corliss, Steve Schrader, Tim West, Matt Tilley, Josh Baker, Darren Keane, Jason Kennedy, Andrew Burton, Josh Miller, Poss Walker, Brent Miller, Brett Rout, Ben Molloy, Jamie Dukes, Josh Tilley, Kurt Davies, Peter Kennedy and Joe Constable.
Barry Merritt is bringing together a side under Russell Hill: Taz Spackman, Justin Hoy, Sam Tyack, Karl Biles, Wesley Finn, Daniel West, Nigel Stonham, Ian Hodges, Dylan Bray, Paul Bray, Ben Godden, David Hodge, Luke Goodall, Troy Williams, Kye Merritt, Eka Coote, Craig Parsons, Russell Hill, Scott D’Ombrain, Jim Dukes, Timmy Dukes, Jared Demamiel, Nathan Taylor, Chris Taylor, Jesse Acheson and Warren Toole.
The Magpies’ Greg Grogan says the game is not one to be missed, “there’s a lot of good footballers there”.
The old boys’ guernseys have been donated and a couple of these might go up for auction as a fundraiser for CanAssist.
Everyone is encouraged to join the club for a great family day, with entry just $5 (under 16s free) and all proceeds from the gate going to CanAssist in honour of the Corlisses.
The final game of the day will see the first grade sides from Forbes Magpies and Bathurst St Pats –the two clubs Brendon played for - take the field.
The game is the Magpies’ first trial and will be Forbes’ first chance to get a look at our first grade line-up for 2018.
The memorial trophy was established in 2014 in memory of the young footballer, tragically killed in a car accident.
Forbes has held the trophy for the past two years – the clubs take it in turn hosting the challenge and Forbes brought it back from Bathurst in 2017.
