Police had stopped the driver on Calarie Road at approximately 5:45pm for a random breath test.
Police allege that the driver accelerated away harshly, reaching speeds in excess of 70km in a 50km zone.
The driver travelled on Barton Street and Farnell Street before eventually stopping on Bedgerabong Road, a police spokesperson said.
The driver returned a negative alcohol reading on a breath test, and was taken to Forbes Hospital for further testing.
The driver was charged with a police pursuit.
On Sunday, April 22, two men were issued with infringements after an alleged theft.
A police spokesperson said the two men stole $200 worth of groceries from Woolworths.
