This game proved to be well worthy of a final with the last few ends bringing the score to 15-16.
Jan came in with a terrific bowl to help their side to a five bowl lead with two more bowls to be played until Annette bowled the winner next to the jack taking them to a win of 17-15 Great game!
Saturday was our Mini Carnival with 18 teams playing from Gulgong West Dubbo Lake Cargellico Grenfell Cowra Parkes Town and Railway Young Canowindra and Orange City as well as our Forbes ladies, all playing singles pairs triples and fours.
It was great to see all the teams out decked in their respective bowling outfits and almost all the three greens played on.
The winning team of the day saw the team from the Parkes Railway with a team from Gulgong including Leisa and Alison from our club come in second with Nada Kurta’s team come third.
With all the laughter and friendly competitive spirit played it is no doubt that winning is not on most bowlers mind but a desire to enjoy our sport with each other and what beautiful weather we had on the day

Netball News
The Forbes Netball Association players will be back on the courts this week, after a short break for the school holidays. The FNA committee hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday break.
The Autumn night competitions for both mixed and ladies teams is drawing to a close, with finals to be played on May 16, between the two top teams on the point score ladder.
The competitions have been played since February, but there are still unregistered players. Teams have been forfeiting, if players have not paid their registration to NNSW and FNA, plus their competition levy of $40 per player per team.
The competition levy pays for the costs associated with the running of the competitions, and includes Forbes Shire Council ground fees, electricity, umpires, awards and general costs.
Without this levy being paid, the FNA will not have the finances to organise competitions. Unregistered players will not be allowed to take the court this week. Please check at the office on Wednesday night.
There were four forfeits last round of competition due to unfinancial players playing. Teams that still have unregistered players are: ladies competition-Golfie, Forbes Engineering, Marist and KMWL.
Teams that still have unregistered players are: Mixed competition-Hot Shots, Sheilas and Blokes and Double Shot. Please check at the office on Wednesday night.
Not Fast But Furious did not umpire last round and will have to pay a $20 fine (for first time), before they play their next game. Their opposition will receive a five goal start, and the team will lose two competition points, as per the competition rules. Teams may check on progressive points score at the office on Wednesday night.
Monthly meeting: The April monthly meeting, put back because of the school holidays will be held on Thursday May 3, at 7.30pm at the Forbes Services Memorial Club.
All night competition teams must be represented and will receive two competition bonus points. Team representatives are to report back to their team, with the information from the meeting.
All representative teams information will be tabled at the Parents Representative Meeting to be held on Thursday, May 31 at 7.30pm.
Parents representative meeting: All parents of representative players are asked to attend a meeting on Thursday May 31 at 7.30pm at the Forbes Services Memorial Club.
Forbes carnival: The Forbes All Age carnival will be held on Sunday May 6. Age groups are 11 years to 15 years and opens. Teams are being formed for all ten and 11 years players and an open team.
Entries must be finalised by Tuesday. Email secretary.forbesnetball@gmail.com Umpires are also needed for the day, and are paid according to qualifications.
Please contact Umpires Convenor Marg Spackman if available. Helpers will be needed to serve in the canteen and BBQ starting at 6.30am to put up tents, and then during the day of competition. Thank you to those who have already volunteered. The rounds start at 8.30am.
