Eugowra Rifle Club
The second round of the 2018 Eugowra Rifle Club Championship began from 300 yards on Saturday, April 21. Only five members were in attendance to take advantage of the excellent conditions. David Jolly recorded his first double possible of the year scoring 100 and nine central bulls in Target Rifle A grade from Ian Ward with 94-8. In Target Rifle B grade Steve Mitchell was top scorer with 89-5 from John Bray who completed just one stage for a score of 41-0 out of 50.
Tony Leonard was the only F Class shooter in attendance, however he would have had no trouble in defeating all-comers with 58-2 in his first stage and 59-5 in his second for a total of 117-7 out of a possible 120 points. F Class scores differ to Target Rifle in that central bullseyes are scored 6 where as Target Rifle central bulls are scored as 5-1. This means that a perfect score in F Class (scoped rifles with a rest) is 120-20 and in Target Rifle (open peep sights shot of elbows and sling) it is 100-20.
Last Saturday, April 28 saw the club championship continue from 500 yards. A much more encouraging roll up of 12 shooters attended in fine but windy conditions. The breeze was predominantly from the south-east but would drop off dramatically or swing straight up the range in very quick time. This effectively caught out most members at least a few times during the afternoons event.
Last Saturdays results
