The track is in great condition after a couple of working bees – there is another one on Saturday to get both the track and facilities ready for Sunday’s racing.
Racing starts at 9am Sunday with Round 1 of the club’s motocross competition.
They’re catering for all classes of racing, open to four-year-olds right through to seniors.
Although there hasn’t been action on the local track, it has already been a busy time for club members.
Twelve-year-old Tom Drane is travelling to the US to race – full story on his adventures to feature in the Advocate next week.
Tom is competing in Illinois, in the AMA Flat Track Grand Nationals.
The event will encompass four days of riding from May 29 against the best riders in America.
Other local dirt track riders are in training for both the NSW and Australian titles which are on in June.
The Forbes Auto Sports Club committee is honing its plans for the season, planning a “come and try” day for the middle of the year.
Their double header – a two-day meeting with dirt track and motocross – is scheduled for October 20 and 21.
Sunday’s sign-on starts at 7.30am and a full canteen will be available throughout the meeting.
