During presentations everyone spoke highly of the support of Forbes Shire Council and other sponsors, the course presentation by curator Justin Clarke, staff and volunteers as well as tournament director Andrew Dukes and club professional Simon Houston.
Three professional players shared top billing with Bryce Mawhinney from Young collecting his first winner’s cheque to join Martin Peterson from Sydney and Victoria representative John Onions in posting rounds of one under par 71.
Also joining top billing was Michael Paterson from Victoria who collected his third Super Senior title with five over par 77.
“I came for the first pro-am so this is my third time here and each year the course just gets better, it's one of the best we play on tour,” Paterson said. “Not only that the people of Forbes are most welcoming and it would be great if we could see a few more tournaments like this in the area as the Legends Tour is getting bigger each year.”
In the amateur section Forbes' Graham Newport backed up his win of last year taking out B grade handicap stableford with 36 points from Stuart French on 34.
Jim Carpenter scored the best round of day to win A grade with 40 points from Darren Lester (Botany Sydney) on 37 points.
Ben Gallagher from Bathurst won C grade with 36 points on a count-back from Forbes' Clayton Alley. Scratch winner was Forbes' Peter Dawson, 37 points.
