Club president, Gary Hodges, said that the evening was held as a fund raiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, which is celebrating 90 years of service to outback Australia.
Mr Hodges said the club wanted to support the RFDS because of the valuable medical services they provide, and he went on to thank Aero Refuellers, who donated the prize for the raffle, which raised $131.
Forbes Flying Club was very pleased with the response, which saw members dressing up with great enthusiasm and colour and enjoying a range of spicy Mexican dishes.
The award for the best dressed man went to Brian “Pablo” Asimus, and Veronica Rebellato took out the prize for the best dressed woman.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service works to provide emergency medical and primary health care services to anyone who lives, works or travels in rural and remote Australia.
They provide regular fly-in fly-out GP, Nursing and Allied Health Clinics to rural and remote communities, as well as a crucial around-the-clock aeroretrieval service to remote areas in times of emergency – across 7.13 million square kilometres.
They also offer mental health services and health education.
