The game, held in conjunction with the Stubby Collits Memorial Day, saw local league legends return to Spooner Oval.
Cars parked three-deep to witness the spectacle and the event was hailed an outstanding success by organisers, players and fans.
One team, wearing pink memorial shirts, was headed up by Peter and Kay’s son Nathan. He was joined by former teammates including David Schrader and Josh Miller who went on to play for Canberra Raiders.
The second was led by Barry Merritt, who rallied a side of old friends and teammates to take the field in guernseys that were a replica of Peter 1975 reserve grade, grand final-winning side.
Forbes Rugby League Club’s Greg Grogan thanked the main supporters of the day – Tim Dukes, JD Glass, and Ben Godden, B and S Godden Building Services – for their backing.
He also paid tribute to Barry Merritt and Nathan Corliss for rallying the players.
