NSW Young Farmers Chair Tim Carroll and local Regional Service Manager Catriona McAuliffe are coming to Forbes for a dinner meeting at the Post Office Hotel on June 11.
Young Farmers is for those aged 18-35, who may or may not already be NSW Farmers members.
The dedicated Young Farmer branch provides a space to discuss and advocate for issues important to the younger age group.
While there’s a lot of discussion around continuing dry conditions at the moment, NSW Farmers’ Young Farmer branch has a number of long-term issues in focus.
Succession planning and access to land are among those issues: and as a result the organisation has now been working on the Young Farmer Business Project with the Department of Primary Industries for 12 months.
Telecommunications, weeds and pests are also in their sights.
“We’re a grassroots organisation, our policy direction comes from our members,” Ms McAuliffe said.
Members and non-members welcome, please register as dinner will be provided.
