The match will take place on Sunday, June 10, from 2pm at Pioneer Oval in Parkes.
Forbes/Parkes CDAT Chair, Melanie Suitor, said the win the swag competition will dovetail the state-wide Plan B campaign which encourages punters to think about alternatives to driving home after a night out.
“Plan B is about making positive choices to get home safely after a night out, highlighting that driving is not an option,” Ms Suitor said.
“It is aimed at young male drivers 17-25 years old, who are overrepresented in all alcohol related crashes, which is why we are going to be at the rugby league match on the weekend.
“The win a swag competition seeks to stop drink driving by promoting an alternative way to get home and the swag itself is a Plan B option and has proven to be a popular prize when given away previously.”
Fans (who are over 18) could win a swag worth $250, simply by filling in an entry form and advising what their Plan B to get home will be.
“In addition to the win a swag competition, we will also have a footy toss game for everyone to try using beer goggles and giveaways for anyone who takes part,” Ms Suitor said.
“Thanks to the Parkes Rugby League Football Club for allowing us to set up our stall and promote this important message.”
