Forbes Platypi president Tracey Prior acknowledged the blues were pretty soundly defeated when the rivals last met in Round 4, but they are hoping to turn that around in front of a home crowd this weekend.
After their 41-12 defeat against Bathurst on June 2, the Platypi took the long weekend bye to reset for the second half of the season.
Ms Prior said they are focused on their on-field discipline and getting the little things right after the previous round’s loss.
“We’re focusing on defense and not giving away easy penalties,” she said.
Saturday should be a good day both on field and off at the rugby club, it’s also Ladies Day.
To celebrate, players will be entering the field with a woman who is special to them.
Local Marg Stirling will also be shaving her hair on Saturday to raise awareness and funds for those suffering from cancer.
Mrs Stirling said she was motivated to shave her head after several friends were diagnosed with breast cancer in a short period of time at the end of last year.
Mrs Stirling will shave her hair off at 7:30pm and will donate it to be made into an adult’s wig.
A reminder that league and union players are welcome to the annual clash of the codes on the bowling green on Sunday.
The Peter Corliss Memorial Day starts at 10am. Names in between 9-9.30am, $30 per person includes lunch and bowls.
