Do you work with or are part of a committee that you think are pretty special? I do!
A couple, actually! The Central West Lachlan Landcare (CWLL) Committee is made up of an enthusiastic group of people from many backgrounds and bringing experience from many sectors to support Landcare in the Parkes and Forbes Shires.
We are fortunate to have landholders from Parkes and Forbes Shires, both from the mature and shall we say, the younger demographic, arts, education, environment, local government, local business and a plethora of talents and backgrounds that all tie in to make a fantastic team.
Like any organisation, if you don’t have a fantastic group of people that support you and provide feedback and suggestions with respect, you are well equipped to undertake your role.
On Wednesday evening we held our June meeting in Parkes. Central West Lachlan Landcare (CWLL) hold monthly meetings alternating between Parkes and Forbes on the third Wednesday of the month, with seasonal allowances.
Part of committee undertakings, particularly for a registered not for profit, is making sure that the policies and procedures are up to date to ensure that we are fit for purpose. We have set a date for our AGM will be held on October 31, 2018.
This year the meeting will be held in Parkes and we are reviewing some guest speaker options. I am open to suggestions for a week or so.
The AGM is another requirement of an Incorporated entity. We appoint the Executive positions, such as Chair, Vice- Chair etc. All welcome.
We will also be reviewing our Strategic Plan and establishing a new plan to continue for five years. Any of you that have been involved in strategic planning will know that sometimes these processes can be a challenge!

Until next week, happy Landcaring!
